In response to protests over high 2026 World Cup ticket prices—previously confirmed by DFB at 155-230 euros for Germany's group matches—FIFA has introduced a $60 base category. National associations like DFB receive allocations, but critics say numbers remain limited.
Following widespread backlash and DFB's confirmation of fan block prices starting at 155 euros for Germany's June group stage matches against Curaçao (Houston), Ivory Coast (Toronto), and Ecuador (East Rutherford), FIFA has introduced a new base ticket category of $60 (about €51) per match across all 104 games, including the final.
This cheaper tier is allocated to national associations for distribution. For DFB, 8% of tickets per game are available for the fan block (4,307; 2,452; 4,826 respectively), with 10% of these—several hundred per match—now in the $60 category under coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Fan groups like Football Supporters Europe welcome the change but criticize the limited quantity, wide price gaps, and insufficient accessibility for disabled fans, demanding better dialogue. The tournament spans June 11-July 19 across USA, Canada, and Mexico.
