Florida man leaves fatal crash scene and takes Uber home

A Florida driver has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash that killed a 17-year-old boy after he allegedly walked away with his son and took an Uber home.

Christopher Everson, 32, was arrested on May 7 and booked into the Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County on charges of leaving the scene of a crash with death and operating an unregistered vehicle. He is being held without bond, according to court records. The incident occurred on April 11 just before 11 p.m. in Seffner when a Nissan sedan crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a Volkswagen driven by the teenager. Everson's Ford F-150 then hit the Volkswagen as well, authorities said.
