A 19-year-old man faces multiple charges after allegedly striking a motorcyclist in Knox County, Tennessee, and leaving the scene. The victim later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Anderson Josuan Perdomo Escobar was driving a Nissan Altima in Cedar Bluff on Thursday evening when he collided with a motorcyclist at the intersection of Dutchtown and Bob Kirby roads. The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital and died from the injuries. Perdomo Escobar continued driving to his residence without contacting authorities. Investigators identified the vehicle and located it at the home. Family members provided video showing damage to the car and Perdomo Escobar removing the license plate. He admitted involvement in the crash but said he left because he was scared. Perdomo Escobar has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident knowing death resulted, tampering with evidence, and driving without a license. He is being held for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on Tuesday.
