Following Shaun Weiss's public offer of detox and long-term treatment on December 22, 2025, Daniel Curtis Lee took direct action. The 36-year-old Chase, who played Martin Qwerly on Nickelodeon's 'Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide' (2004-2007), has been unhoused in Riverside after viral videos surfaced.
On December 23, Lee drove approximately 50 miles from Los Angeles to reunite with Chase. They walked, caught up over pizza, and Lee booked a local motel room to protect him from an incoming Southern California rainstorm. 'I wanted to make sure Tylor had somewhere safe to stay,' Lee told TMZ. He plans to remain in contact and provide support, noting Chase's 'immense potential' despite preferring to stay unhoused currently.
Weiss, known from 'The Mighty Ducks' films, had invited Chase to a recovery facility where he works, but Lee said Chase is reluctant about hospitals or treatment centers. Devon Werkheiser, who played Ned, called the situation 'heartbreaking' after nearly 20 years apart. 'Tylor was a sensitive, sweet, and kind kid,' Werkheiser told TMZ, emphasizing challenges of addiction and mental health: 'It’s an unbelievably challenging situation if they don’t want help. It requires a ton of support and patience and time.' He hopes publicity leads to effective intervention for recovery.
Chase's other credits include 'Everybody Hates Chris' and 'Good Time Max.' This follows ongoing attention to former child stars' post-fame struggles.
