Seven people in a family from Malmö were struck by lightning at Tosselilla Sommarland in Tomelilla on Sunday. Four of them remain in hospital care.
The lightning struck a tree shortly after opening on Sunday afternoon. Several people were hit by falling tree parts. A two-year-old boy and his grandmother are among those taken by ambulance to hospital.
The boy's mother described the event. She said it sounded like a bomb and everything turned completely white. She felt pain in her back, arm and leg.
Operations manager Tommy Bauer at Tosselilla Sommarland said staff cared for the injured first. The park had closed attractions due to SMHI's yellow warning for thunder. He stated that tickets will be refunded if families cannot use their visit.
