Mexican authorities arrested Gilda ‘N’ at Mexico City International Airport on charges of operations with illicit-origin resources linked to the Agronitrogenados case. President Claudia Sheinbaum denied political motives and confirmed the Fiscalía General de la República has evidence.
Gilda ‘N’ was detained by officers from the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana and the Secretaría de Marina after an airline alert. Omar García Harfuch explained that the company notified authorities of her arrival with a red notice and arrest warrant.
Her lawyer, Alejandro Rojas Pruneda, denounced excessive use of force and the leak of a photograph showing her handcuffed. He stated that authorities stigmatized his client during the presentation.
The initial hearing is scheduled for this Friday at Reclusorio Norte, where her legal situation will be defined on charges of operations with illicit-origin resources. Sheinbaum said the detention is based on deposits and schemes without economic justification.
Emilio Lozoya remains a collaborating witness under conditional release in the Odebrecht investigation.
