This represents a 20 percent increase from the 54.8 billion won allocated for similar initiatives last year. The focus is on AI transformation in the manufacturing sector, a key government agenda to boost local companies' competitiveness amid the AI era.

The budget will also fund projects by medium-sized firms located outside the greater Seoul area, aiming to foster balanced regional development. The ministry's logo in Sejong was referenced, with the announcement made in Seoul. This support targets helping mid-sized firms innovate in manufacturing through AI technologies.
