A cold front is set to affect Hong Kong from Saturday, bringing stronger northerly winds, patches of rain, and a sharp temperature drop. Minimum temperatures will plunge to 15 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

According to the Hong Kong Observatory, a cold front will move across the coast of Guangdong province from Saturday, impacting Hong Kong with stronger northerly winds, a few rain patches, and a significant temperature drop.

The forecaster stated that the cold front will begin affecting Hong Kong on Saturday, with winds intensifying and temperatures falling to around 15 degrees Celsius (59 Fahrenheit) the following day. The minimum temperature is expected to drop from 21 degrees on Friday to 17 degrees on Saturday and as low as 15 degrees on Sunday, based on the latest nine-day forecast.

The Observatory noted that temperatures would be a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories.

“Under the influence of the associated northeast monsoon, the weather will be dry over the coast of Guangdong early next week. It will be cool in the morning and at night, with a relatively large temperature difference between day and night over inland areas,” it said.

Early next week, the coast of Guangdong is expected to remain dry, with cool mornings and nights, particularly in inland areas.
