Several Indonesian players showed varying performances on the first day of the Polytron Indonesia Open 2026 at Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/6). Alwi Farhan and the pair Ana/Trias advanced to the next round, while Leo/Daniel exited early.
Alwi Farhan defeated India's Lakshya Sen with scores of 21-19 and 21-16. The young player said he was happy to play at Istora, which had previously given him a title.
The women's doubles pair Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari, known as Ana/Trias, beat India's Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand Pullela 21-14 and 21-12. They aim for the semifinals and will face Taiwan's seventh seed in the round of 16.
Meanwhile, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin lost to Chinese Taipei's Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang Po-Hsuan 16-21, 21-13, and 19-21. Daniel apologized to supporters for the disappointing result.
