In January 2026, Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo carried out a major reshuffle involving 85 personnel, covering high-ranking officers (Pati) and mid-level officers (Pamen). The mutations were outlined in two telegrams: ST No. ST/99/I/KEP./2026 dated January 15, 2026, affecting 53 personnel, and ST No. ST/143/I/KEP./2026 dated January 22, 2026, involving 32 personnel.
Beyond regional changes to Kapolda and Wakapolda positions in Bali, Papua, South Sumatra, and West Kalimantan, the reshuffle targeted key Mabes Polri staff. The strategic Head of Public Relations Division (Kadiv Humas) Polri saw its previous occupant moved to Kapolda South Sumatra, with Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir—formerly Kapolda West Papua—appointed to the role.
Other shifts include the Head of Yanma (Headquarters Services) Polri: Commissioner Basuni Abas was replaced by Commissioner Yudi Arkara Oktobera after moving to Head of History Center Polri. At the Police Education and Training Institute (Lemdiklat) Polri, Inspector General Achmad Kartiko advanced to Head from deputy, with Inspector General Andi Rian R. Djajadi filling the deputy role—he was previously Kapolda South Sumatra.
Regionally, Wakapolda Bali shifted from Brigadier General I Komang Sandi Arsana to Brigadier General I Made Astawa, while Kapolda South Sumatra is now held by Inspector General Sandi Nugroho. In Papua, Kapolda West Papua was replaced by Brigadier General Alfred Papare, and Kapolda Central Papua by Commissioner Jermias.
Head of Public Information Bureau, Public Relations Division Polri, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, explained, “Job mutations are routine and normal in the Polri organization. This is done as a form of refreshment, strengthening organizational structure, and career development to ensure Polri's duties run optimally and professionally,” he said on January 24, 2026.
The reshuffle forms part of efforts to strengthen the Bhayangkara Corps structure for more optimal performance.
