Integrated urban agriculture center opens in Lemi Kura sub-city

An integrated urban agriculture center built on three hectares in Addis Ababa's Lemi Kura sub-city has opened for service. Mayor Adanech Abiebie inaugurated the facility.

The center features 16 shops and 18 sheds and will supply urban agricultural products. The mayor noted on her social media page that a similar center had previously been built in Akaki Kality sub-city.

She stated that including farmers in urban development is essential. Such centers help prevent price inflation and provide agricultural products at reasonable prices, she said.

This facility forms part of efforts to ensure residents benefit from city growth.
