Addis Ababa, Megabit 6, 2018 (FMC) – The theater titled “Inzata,” centered on singers’ lives and works, premiered at Bahir Dar’s Millennium Hall. It is produced based on a deep study conducted within the singers’ circle referred to as “Burqux.” The director, who holds property rights, stated that singers and world activists have made varied contributions to the country’s development and growth. They urged preserving the singers’ legacy and advancing their profession. Singers are described not merely as those who draw with music but as storytellers, joy bringers, representatives of public wishes and feelings, problem identifiers, and solution providers. Gebremariam Yirgam, head of the Amhara Regional Culture, Poetry, and Heritage Literature House, noted efforts to popularize the region’s history and qirs through poetry. He affirmed that this theater is part of that work and promised continuation of such initiatives.
