Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said he feels like a gigantic loser and failure because the studio has not moved forward with its Blade reboot starring Mahershala Ali.
Feige made the comments while promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
Marvel first announced the reboot with Ali in 2019. The project faced multiple delays after directors Bassam Tariq and Yann Demange left and during the 2023 WGA strike.
In 2024 the film was removed from the 2025 release schedule. Feige has continued to express commitment to the character.
A year earlier he said the studio had developed four versions of the film and settled on a modern-day approach. He noted that the team did not want to rush production with a basic script.
