Kevin Warsh was sworn in as chairman of the United States Federal Reserve on Friday morning in a White House ceremony. President Trump administered the oath, replacing Jerome Powell who continues as a governor. Warsh pledged reforms at the central bank amid shifting rate expectations.
Warsh took the oath at 11 am ET during the ceremony. In his remarks he said, “I will lead a reform-oriented Federal Reserve, learning from past successes and mistakes, both escaping static frameworks and models, and upholding clear standards and integrity and performance today marks a return to an institution that I do in fact cherish.”
