The Old Students Association of Ladigbolu Grammar School, Oyo, 1975 set, gathered in Ibadan over the weekend for a reunion commemorating 50 years since their graduation. Attendees shared memories of their time at the school and discussed ways to give back to their alma mater.
Pastor (Mrs) Funmilayo Ojoawo, who serves as the association's president general and previously acted as the school's principal, addressed the gathering. She highlighted the set's key donations, including 26 bundles of roofing sheets to renovate the Home Economics and Typing Pool Block. The group also supplied furniture for the library and received a book donation from Dr Belau Gbadamosi, a retired librarian from the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
Ojoawo expressed gratitude for the support she has received, noting her distinction as the first alumnus appointed principal and the first female president general of the association. She also acknowledged the presence of Akin Olawoyin, a retired teacher who instructed the set in mathematics and physics.
The event included prayers for the souls of departed 1975 set members, as well as blessings for the health, longevity, and prosperity of those still living. This reunion underscores the enduring bonds among the alumni and their commitment to enhancing educational facilities at Ladigbolu Grammar School.
