Lady Gaga and Doechii debuted the vibrant music video for their collaborative single 'Runway'—the theme song for the upcoming The Devil Wears Prada 2—on YouTube on Monday, April 27. Directed by Parris Goebel with choreography by Goebel and Robbie Blue, it showcases elaborate high-fashion looks tied to the film's Milan Fashion Week scenes, including custom gowns, catsuits, and dramatic runway struts. The sequel hits theaters May 1.
The video opens in a black-and-white striped studio with dancers styled as high-fashion whirling dervishes and club kids. Lady Gaga appears in a glittery blue top, black-and-blue ombre skirt, and metallic blue headpiece shaped like a hand topped with a crystal-embellished blue veil. Doechii wears a black cage dress accented with lavender floral fabric below the hips and a fuchsia hat bursting with colorful feathers (Daily Front Row). The duo later performs on a blood-red stage in custom gowns by New York-based couturier Miss Claire Sullivan—Gaga in silver, Doechii in gold, evoking modern-day Marie Antoinettes—and shares a double-breasted red suit described as 'three-legged race conjoined twin corporate realness.'
Gaga showcases solo outfits including the viral urn dress from Daniel del Valle’s Fall 2026 London Fashion Week show and a custom red patent leather catsuit with red crocodile opera heels by Thom Solo. They don matching black Opera Platforms by Thom Solo (Gaga later switches to custom red crocodile versions), custom Gaurav Gupta Couture gimp suits covered in crystals and spikes, bedazzled bondage suits, and contrasting black-and-white dramatic looks in the striped studio. Backup dancers heighten the frenzy as the stars strut the runway, with Gaga in a teapot costume beside an enormous high-heeled shoe and the duo sharing a giant red dress. Additional highlights include looks from Custom LUAR twin suit, Bad Binch Tong Tong, and Robert Wun.
'Runway' is the artists' first joint track, co-written by Gaga, Bruno Mars, Doechii (Jaylah Hickmon), Andrew Watt, Henry Walter (Cirkut), Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II, and Jayda Love, and co-produced by Watt, Mars, Cirkut, and D’Mile. It debuted with 2.962 million unfiltered Spotify streams (#32 globally, #25 US with 727K+).
Directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, the sequel features Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci reprising their roles, with Streep's Miranda Priestly navigating print journalism's decline against Blunt's rival. Gaga has an undisclosed cameo.
This follows the 'Runway' collaboration announcement and trailer tease. Gaga recently wrapped her 'The Mayhem Ball' tour on April 13 (12 months, 86 dates, $419.5M gross, ~2M tickets; Billboard Boxscore), winning February Grammys for Best Pop Vocal Album (Mayhem) and Best Dance Pop Recording ('Abracadabra'). Doechii won Best Music Video for 'Anxiety.' Gaga praised Doechii in British Vogue for her 'legendary' pen.
