Large grass fire outside Almunge extinguished

A grass fire outside Almunge on Wednesday afternoon has now been extinguished. The blaze was roughly the size of three football fields, according to Räddningscentral Mitt.

The fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon and emergency services worked to extinguish it. At 14:30 the operation was estimated to take about one hour.

Sebastian, operations officer at Räddningscentral Mitt, said the fire was under control with no further spread risk. Final extinguishing work continued to prevent reignition.

No buildings were nearby and no one was injured. SMHI has warned of forest fire risk in the area until Friday at 12:00.
