Lizzo released an alternate version of her song 'BITCH' on June 5 that appears to respond to Nicki Minaj. The move came hours after the Detroit artist dropped her first album in four years.
Lizzo shared the remix shortly after her album BITCH arrived on streaming platforms. She overlaid the track with a screenshot of a February 1 tweet from Minaj that mocked Lizzo's weight loss and predicted low sales for the project. In the lyrics, Lizzo raps about once being a fan before noting changes in their relationship and a desire for peace among women in music. She captioned the post with a reference to being blocked by Minaj. Lizzo described the album title as an act of reclaiming a word long used to diminish women. She cited artists such as Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliott as prior examples of positive usage. Minaj had not responded as of the latest reports. BITCH marks Lizzo's first full project since the 2022 release Special.
