Magenta Light Studios acquires north american rights to Lice

Bob Yari’s Magenta Light Studios has acquired North American theatrical rights to the horror-thriller Lice. The film is set for release in the first quarter of 2027. It marks the directorial debut of Jonathan Bensimon.

The movie stars Emile Hirsch as burned-out science teacher Mr. Shanker, Justin Long as Principal Van, and Kevin Connolly as Detective Sikorski. It follows a deadly parasite outbreak at a Long Island high school in the 1980s that leads to a military lockdown and chaos among itch-crazed students. Connolly also serves as a producer alongside Jeremy Alter under ActionPark Productions. Bob Yari and David Spiegelman of Magenta Light Studios are executive producers along with Eustace Montgomery Hicks. Highland Film Group is handling international sales from Cannes.
