President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is set to deliver his fifth State of the Nation Address this afternoon at the Batasang Pambansa.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is expected to report on his administration's accomplishments and address issues such as corruption in flood control projects that he promised to tackle last year. Surveys show the public wants to hear about accountability in the scandal and the economy.
The speech is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Quezon City with officials from all branches of government present. Vice President Sara Duterte will not attend as she is expected to return to the country on July 31.
Discussion is also anticipated on the Bangsamoro peace process and inflation at 6.4 percent in June. Senators including JV Ejercito and Loren Legarda expect clear reports on these matters.
