Michael Edwards has stepped down as CEO of Football at Fenway Sports Group, the owners of Liverpool Football Club. The departure comes as the club prepares for the summer transfer window.
Edwards returned to FSG in March 2024 after previously serving as Liverpool's sporting director. He helped the club secure two Premier League titles and the Champions League under Jurgen Klopp before leaving in 2022.
FSG described the exit as part of a planned transition. President Mike Gordon thanked Edwards for his contributions, noting his role in Liverpool's recent league title win.
Edwards said it had been a privilege to return and that he leaves the club in a strong position. Liverpool have been quiet in the market so far this summer under new manager Andoni Iraola, with only two signings completed.
