Miley Cyrus shared reflections on personal growth, love, and activism in interviews published this week. The 33-year-old spoke to Wonderland Magazine about her Happy Hippie Foundation and new music.
Miley Cyrus said she once felt pressure to save the world but now believes change occurs when everyone contributes. She told the magazine she aims to keep her side of the street clean and make compassion inspiring.
The singer founded the Happy Hippie Foundation in 2014. It addresses youth homelessness and supports the LGBTQ community. She cited seeing homelessness daily in Los Angeles as motivation and noted her own identification with the community.
Cyrus, engaged to Maxx Morando, described her new record as a layered love story. She said a peaceful kind of love has been a theme across her last three records, including self-love. She was previously married to Liam Hemsworth from 2018 to 2020.
She added that love is dynamic and complex and cannot always be intellectualised. The foundation is currently focused on a redesign of the Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles.
