Hanna Bergholm’s Nightborn took the top prize at the 2026 Fantasia International Film Festival juried awards. The film received the Cheval Noir trophy for best film. Seidi Haarla, who stars in the movie, also won best actress.
The awards recognized achievements across multiple categories at the Montreal event. Kasper Kalle earned best director for No Rest for the Wicked. Edwin, Eka Kurniawan, and Daishi Matsunaga received best screenplay for Sleep No More.
Fabrizio La Palombara won best cinematography for Ferine. Satoshi Ueno took best editing for Beasts Clutching at Straws. Pino Donaggio received best score for Ferine.
Additional honors went to Seidi Haarla for outstanding performance in Nightborn and Pilou Asbæk for his work in No Rest for the Wicked. Special mentions were awarded to the ensemble of Hot Spot and the practical effects team of Sleep No More.
