New Japan Pro-Wrestling revealed the initial lineup for its G1 Climax 36 tournament during the June 14 Dominion event in Osaka.
The 20-man field will include 14 confirmed entrants split across two blocks, with the remaining six spots to be decided in play-in matches.
Yota Tsuji heads the A Block as the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion after defeating Callum Newman at Dominion. Konosuke Takeshita, Hirooki Goto, Shingo Takagi, Jake Lee, SANADA and Boltin Oleg round out the announced A Block participants.
The B Block features Callum Newman, Gabe Kidd, Zack Sabre Jr., Shota Umino, Yuya Uemura, Ren Narita and Drilla Moloney. HENARE and Great-O-Khan were also confirmed for the tournament but will be placed in separate blocks.
The tournament begins July 11 at the NOW Arena outside Chicago, marking the first U.S. start since 2019, and concludes with the final on August 16.
