Police to use drones during Älvdalen Musik och Motor 2026

The Swedish Police Authority has decided to deploy drones for camera surveillance in Älvdalen during the Älvdalen Musik och Motor 2026 event on 5–9 August.

The decision applies from Wednesday 5 August at 18:00 until Sunday 9 August at 04:00. The drones will be used to prevent, hinder or detect criminal activity and to maintain public order and safety.

Surveillance will take place between 18:00 and 04:00 each day. The police may use the footage in investigation and prosecution work, including as evidence in court.

The drones fly at high altitudes where no person identification occurs. The decision does not give the police the right to film into homes or other privacy-sensitive places.
