President Donald Trump is not expected to attend Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals on Wednesday. He attended Game 3 at Madison Square Garden at the invitation of New York Knicks owner James Dolan.
Trump watched the contest from Dolan's suite. His presence led to heightened security measures, including multiple checkpoints, restricted bag policies, and blocked streets around the arena. Fans were advised to arrive two hours early, and an outdoor watch party was canceled. The president is skipping Game 4 due to scheduling conflicts. He is set to host UFC Freedom 250 on Sunday at an arena on the South Lawn of the White House. It remains unclear whether he will attend a potential Game 6 if the series between the Knicks and San Antonio Spurs reaches that point. Trump became the first sitting U.S. president to attend an NBA Finals game during Game 3. Other former presidents have attended Finals contests both during and after their time in office.
