Rögle BK has signed American defenseman Nate Clurman to a one-year contract ahead of the 2026/27 SHL season. The 28-year-old joins from the Montreal Canadiens organization. He replaces Lucas Ekeståhl Jonsson, who is leaving the club.
Clurman spent the past season with AHL affiliate Laval Rocket, appearing in 60 games. He previously played in the organizations of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Colorado Avalanche. With Pittsburgh he made one NHL appearance.
Rögle sports chief Hampus Sjöström said Clurman fits the club's style. "Nate is a mobile and strong-skating defenseman who contributes energy and activity all over the ice," Sjöström said in a statement. "He is also a person with strong character and qualities that we value highly in the group."
The move brings additional North American professional hockey experience to Rögle for the upcoming campaign.
