Several Southeastern Conference track and field programs delivered standout performances at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas, over the weekend. Athletes from LSU, Florida, Georgia and Texas Tech shattered school records, personal bests and national marks across sprints, distance events and field competitions. The meet concluded on Saturday with multiple relay victories and top finishes.
The Razorback Invitational, held at the Randal Tyson Indoor Track, featured strong showings from SEC powerhouses. LSU closed the meet with three additions to its all-time performance list. Freshman Abigael Chemnagei set a school record in the women's 3000 meters with 9:03.04, finishing 11th, while Edna Chepkemoi ran 9:07.08 for No. 2 in LSU history. In the men's 60 meters, Jaiden Reid clocked 6.59 seconds in prelims for the No. 9 NCAA time this season, Joshua Caleb hit 6.60 in semis to enter LSU's top 10 at No. 5, and Myles Thomas ran a season-best 6.66. Freshman Athaleyha Hinckson improved her Guyanese U20 record in the women's 60 meters to 7.24 in semis. Other LSU personal bests included Casey Goetschel's 8:16.45 in 3000 meters, Trenton Sandler's 4:07.26 mile, Amal Glasgow's 46.70 in 400 meters, and Princesse Hyman's 46-1.5 shot put.
Florida highlighted Day 2 with distance successes. Sophomore Jonathan Leon won the men's 3000 meters in a personal best 8:08.81, freshman Kelvin Cheruiyot set a school record of 7:47.45 for second overall, and Riley Novack placed fourth at 8:13.49. In the women's 3000 meters, Ashley Fitzgerald ran 9:38.87 for fourth, and Kate Drummond 9:46.03 for ninth, both personal bests. Riley Smith placed 14th in the men's mile at 3:59.02, moving to No. 3 all-time for Gators. Beth Morley took third in the women's mile at 4:32.79. Jaden Horton-Mims finished third in men's 400 meters at 45.69, with Justin Braun fifth at 45.81. Jarno van Daalen threw 19.17 meters for fourth in men's shot put, tying seventh all-time, and Alida van Daalen fourth in women's at 17.10 meters. Florida's men's 4x400 relay won in 3:04.04 with McCoy, Braun, Nilsson and Horton-Mims; the women's team placed fifth at 3:31.32. "You see these performances, and it’s like, OK, this is an accumulation of everything that we’ve done behind the scenes," said UF throws coach Eric Werskey.
Georgia's men saw Brion Stephens clear 2.18 meters for second in high jump, Kimani Jack 2.15 for third, and Alon Rogow 5.30 meters for fifth in pole vault. Jonathan Simms ran 45.04 for second in 400 meters, and Maximus Tucker placed sixth in heptathlon while winning the 1000 meters. For Georgia women, Adaejah Hodge tied the meet record in 200 meters at 22.53, the 2026 world and NCAA lead and 25th all-time, then ran 7.16 in 60 meters to tie for third nationally. A 2024 Olympian for the British Virgin Islands, Hodge anchored a dominant debut. Ella Rush scored 4,021 points for fifth in pentathlon, Chelsi Williams jumped 6.24 meters for seventh in long jump and ran 8.08 in 60-meter hurdles for fifth all-time at Georgia. Dejanea Oakley set the 2026 world lead in 400 meters at 51.11. Nina Ndubuisi threw 17.93 meters for a Georgia indoor shot put record, fourth nationally. Skylynn Townsend leaped 13.48 meters for third in triple jump, Danah Nembhard 13.31 for seventh. The 4x400 relay of Oakley, Maisvorewa, Foote and Smith ran 3:27.65, the NCAA's fastest and second in program history.
Texas Tech's women’s 4x400 relay posted 3:33.42 for No. 2 all-time with Kelley, Afrifa, Ewusi and Balde; men's team ran 3:06.50 with Uter, Boyce, Tinega and Neal. In men's triple jump, Seremes reached 16.38 meters for second. Women's triple jump saw Ruta Lasmane and Grace Oshiokpu both at 13.44 meters for first and fourth, with Olga Szlachta at 13.28 for eighth, all personal or season bests. Titus Kimaru ran 7:53.19 in men's 3000 meters for second all-time at Texas Tech, Victor Kipkoech 7:53.85 for fourth. Malachi Snow placed second in 60-meter hurdles at 7.56. Antoine Andrews and Success Umukoro advanced to 60-meter finals.
