Kim Jun-ho recorded the second-fastest split in the opening 100 meters at 9.39 seconds and completed the remaining distance in 24.6 seconds to secure the gold medal.
Last weekend at the season-opening World Cup in Salt Lake City, Utah, Kim set a new South Korean record with a time of 33.78 seconds, but it was only good enough for bronze. This victory marks his second World Cup medal of the month, boosting his momentum.
The 30-year-old Kim is set to pursue his first career Olympic medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. The result bodes well for his Olympic prospects.
