Seven Rajya Sabha MPs from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have defected to the BJP. Parliament attendance records show Swati Maliwal as the most regular among them, while cricketer Harbhajan Singh had the lowest attendance. Raghav Chadha, a former aide to Arvind Kejriwal, triggered the mutiny in AAP on Friday.
Parliament attendance records indicate that among the seven AAP Rajya Sabha MPs who defected to the BJP, Swati Maliwal recorded the highest attendance of 94.87% since entering the Upper House in January 2024. She asked 105 questions, tabled five bills, served on two committees, and participated in 17 debates.
Ashok Kumar Mittal, founder of Lovely Professional University, logged 84.96% attendance since May 2022, asking 361 questions and joining 341 debates. Raghav Chadha achieved 82.44% attendance over the same period, with 350 questions, nine bills, three committees, and 332 debates. Sandeep Pathak recorded 78.95%.
In contrast, businessmen Rajinder Gupta and Vikramjeet Singh Sahney had attendances of 56% and 56.49% since October 2025 and July 2022, respectively; Gupta participated in no debates. Harbhajan Singh had the lowest at 25.95%, attending 34 of 131 sittings and asking 172 questions.
The MPs have served varying tenures, making direct comparisons approximate. Average House attendance ranged from 159 in the 256th session of 2022 to 197 in the 261st session of 2023.
