A 40-year-old Swedish man convicted of preparation for murder has been extradited from Turkey to Sweden. He landed in the country on July 21 and will serve his sentence.
The man has played a central role in a criminal network in western Sweden. The court of appeal sentenced him in 2022 to five years and nine months in prison for four cases of preparation for murder.
He was arrested in Turkey in 2024 after being wanted via Interpol. Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer highlighted the cooperation between the countries.
”The message to the gang criminals who hide abroad is clear: there is nowhere you can hide”, Strömmer said in a comment. Police thanked Turkish authorities for their work.
