A trailer for the upcoming documentary 'American YoungBoy' has debuted, focusing on rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again's Make America Slime Again Tour. Directed by Nico Ballesteros, the film highlights his stage presence and personal life amid recent career milestones. It arrives as he holds the record for most Billboard 200 charting albums by a hip-hop artist.
YoungBoy Never Broke Again, one of rap's most prolific artists, is the subject of the new documentary American YoungBoy, directed by Nico Ballesteros, who previously created the 2025 Kanye West film In Whose Name?. The film centers on his sold-out Make America Slime Again Tour, known as the MASA Tour, which featured 42 shows and drew widespread acclaim for his dynamic artistry and stage presence, according to the official synopsis released with the trailer, as first reported by VIBE on March 26. The trailer begins with a woman's voiceover stating, “They tried to silence him. They tried to bury him. Every scar became a story. The glow can’t be contained. It’s the takeover. The movement rises again and again. Tonight, the resurrection begins. It’s time to make America again, baby.” It includes concert footage, backstage clips, and a headline about his 2025 pardon by Donald Trump. Later segments show him performing his 2020 track “Kacey Talk,” alongside personal glimpses into rehearsals, family life, and home settings. This comes during a high point for YoungBoy, who in 2025 overtook E-40 as the hip-hop artist with the most Billboard 200 entries, totaling 34 albums. His latest release, Slime Cry, debuted at number six on the chart in January. American YoungBoy will premiere in Regal Cinemas on April 22.
