The UK's Competition and Markets Authority will start a formal investigation this month into Microsoft's business software practices. Officials aim to assess whether bundling of products like Windows, Word, Excel, Teams and Copilot limits competition.
The probe will examine Microsoft's position in these markets and cloud licensing practices. It seeks to determine if targeted measures are needed to protect choice, innovation and prices for UK users. Hundreds of thousands of residents rely on the company's tools daily, CMA Chief Executive Sarah Cardell said in a statement.
