Designer Uma Wang unveiled her Spring 2027 menswear collection with an emphasis on effortless style drawn from the late photographer Peter Beard. The designs feature Italian fabrics treated for a naturally worn appearance. The overall look prioritizes lived-in sophistication over polished perfection.
Wang cited Beard as a key influence, noting that he dressed without overthinking choices. “Peter Beard was a man who had seen too much to care about a perfect crease,” she said. “He never seemed concerned with looking impeccable.”
All fabrics originated from Tuscan mills in Italy. Lightweight cotton received washes to create a worn-in effect, while linen was stained and dyed by hand. One material included metallic elements for structure, and a poppy print came from a photograph near a production site.
Garments included open-sided trench coats, jackets paired with Bermuda shorts or pinstripe trousers, and short-sleeved shirts with integrated scarves. “I don’t know much about menswear,” Wang said, “but I observe the people I see on the street and those who are part of my life.”
