McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown has stated his team possesses the ability to become the fastest Formula 1 outfit before the current regulation cycle concludes.
Speaking on the Up To Speed podcast, Brown referenced McLaren's prior rise from ninth to constructors' champions as proof that major gains remain feasible.
"I've got a lot of confidence, but it's going to be very tough," Brown said. "We have gone from ninth to quickest. So, we can definitely go from third to quickest. It'll take some time."
The team currently holds third place in the Constructors' Championship on 159 points. Brown noted recent results including a sprint victory in Miami along with near-wins there and in Japan.
He added that the top four squads are likely to claim all victories this season, with two already having done so.
