The UDEF found agendas in the raid on Julio Martínez Martínez's home with notes on prisoner releases in Venezuela and the repatriation of Edmundo González. The documents suggest the businessman's possible role in high-level decisions.
Police seized the handwritten agendas on December 11, 2025, at Martínez's home in Madrid. One notebook, bearing the Plus Ultra logo, contained references to agreements on political prisoners, CNI agents and the phrase “Que EG venga”, interpreted as the repatriation of Edmundo González.
Agents concluded the notes “transcend notably the sphere of influence or institutional relations that a businessman might hold”. They also found notes on a possible constitutional reform plan in Venezuela and references to state companies such as PDVSA and CVG.
Zapatero has flatly denied any participation in the Plus Ultra bailout or these activities. Judge José Luis Calama summoned the former president to testify on June 2 on charges of influence peddling and criminal organization.
