Andalusia experienced one of the most extreme heat days in June on Monday. Andújar led the national ranking with 45.1 °C, according to official SYNOP data, followed by Bailén at 44.2 °C and Montoro near 44 °C.

This mark marks the fourth time that 45 °C has been exceeded in Spain during June since records began. The previous instances were in 1965 and 2025.

A DANA situated over the Atlantic pushed the hot air mass toward the east of the peninsula. This caused an uneven distribution of heat, with more moderate highs in the west.

AEMET activated red warnings for Tuesday in Córdoba, Jaén, Liébana, Guipúzcoa and Vizcaya, with forecasts of up to 44 °C in Córdoba. The heat wave will continue in the interior of the south and northeast of the peninsula.
