According to the reports, the operation relates to a United States investigation into AFA business dealings in the country and international contracts. The incident reportedly delayed the Argentine team's return after losing the final to Spain.
The AFA responded with an official statement. The organization clarified that the citation from the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida is directed at a third party and not at Tapia or treasurer Pablo Toviggino.
The statement denied any seizure of devices and rejected claims that the officials had been summoned. The AFA accused the media of spreading inaccurate information and said it reserves the right to take legal action.
