Bungie adjusts Marathon Cryo Archive and ranked mode schedules

Bungie has changed the weekly schedules for Cryo Archive and Ranked modes in Marathon to prevent overlap. Cryo Archive will now run from Thursday 10am PT to Sunday 10am PT, with Ranked following from Sunday 10am PT to the next Thursday 10am PT. The update ensures one mode is always available.

The Marathon development team announced the schedule shift on its X account, responding to player feedback about the previous overlap between the two endgame modes. Players had reported difficulty choosing between Cryo Archive and Ranked queues, especially on weekends when both were active simultaneously. Both modes function as loot sinks, where participants risk powerful gear, making the separation beneficial for balancing player time and progression. The team stated: We've heard your feedback that having Ranked and Cryo Archive overlap can make it difficult to decide where to spend your time and hard-earned loot. Based on that, we're updating their schedules so each has a clear, focused window. This change follows other recent updates, including special subroutine drops in Cryo Archive loot vaults and improved matchmaking for players in isolated geographical regions. Bungie continues to seek feedback, with a solo Cryo Archive option remaining a key player request. The new rotation aims to provide dedicated windows for each mode, accommodating both casual players and those focused on ranked progression.
