A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of 48 properties linked to former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami to the Federal Government.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission secured the order on Wednesday from Justice Joyce Abdulmalik. The judge ruled that the assets were reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities.
The properties include Rayhaan University in Kebbi State along with its campuses, vice chancellor's residence and radio station. Other assets cover hotels, plazas, estates, filling stations and factories in Abuja, Kano and Kebbi.
The case started with an interim order on January 6, 2026. Malami and 14 respondents challenged the move but failed to prove legitimate sources of funds.
