Dillon Dingler delivered key hits to help the Detroit Tigers defeat the Chicago White Sox 4-1 on Saturday at Comerica Park. His fifth-inning single tied the game before he added a 430-foot home run later.
Dingler’s sixth home run of June and 17th of the season came in the sixth inning off Trevor Richards. The blast gave the Tigers a 4-1 lead after his earlier single had erased a deficit.
The victory improved Detroit’s momentum following a bases-loaded strikeout in the fourth. Dingler finished with two hits and drove in multiple runs while batting .292 for the month.
Manager A.J. Hinch praised Dingler’s consistency, noting his ability to execute plans at the plate regardless of position. Catcher Jake Rogers called him an All-Star player who deserves recognition.
