Domestic violence suspect charged with murdering pregnant woman and boyfriend in California crash

A domestic violence suspect fleeing police in Pomona, California, slammed into a car carrying a pregnant woman and her boyfriend, killing all three, authorities said. Marshall Judson faces three counts of murder after the Wednesday night crash. The victims were 25-year-old Jennifer Loera-Zarco, 26-year-old Marc Anthony Trejo Saldivar, and their unborn son.

Pomona police responded to a domestic violence call around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of East 10th Street, identifying 31-year-old Marshall Judson as the suspect. While officers spoke with the victim, Judson returned in his truck, drove recklessly, and intentionally struck a patrol car before fleeing southbound on Garey Avenue, according to the Pomona Police Department. Officers pursued and watched as he crashed into a Ford Fusion occupied by Loera-Zarco and Trejo Saldivar. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, and Loera-Zarco's unborn baby boy, due in weeks, did not survive. She was eight and a half months pregnant at the time of the crash, family members said. Police arrested Judson at the scene and recovered a gun along with miscellaneous firearm components from his vehicle. He lacked a valid driver's license. The victims' families organized a vigil Friday night. Loera-Zarco's sister, Amber Torres, emphasized the loss of three lives in an interview with KABC. 'I just want people to know that — they keep saying that it was two lives lost, but it was three,' Torres said. 'The baby was his own person. He was almost here.' A GoFundMe for the families had raised about $45,000 by Sunday, with Trejo Saldivar's cousin describing the couple as 'kind, loving and genuine.' Judson remains in Los Angeles County Jail without bond and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
