The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s Fire Services responded to a fire breaking out at La Motte in Franschhoek. Resources from both the Cape Winelands District Municipality and Stellenbosch Municipality are on the scene, working to contain the blaze.
Municipal Spokesperson Anesca Roodt stated that the teams are aided by aerial resources, contracted ground crews, and the Volunteer Wildfire Services. "Multiple structures are under threat, and firefighting efforts are focused on structure protection," she said.
Roodt also advised the public: "Motorists are advised to drive carefully, to follow the instructions of traffic officials and to give way to firefighting vehicles."
