Forshaga IF vetäytyy Hockeyettanista ensi kaudeksi

Forshaga IF on päättänyt jättää Hockeyettanin kauden 2026-27 kynnyksellä jatkuvien taloudellisten vaikeuksien vuoksi. Hallitus teki päätöksen sunnuntaina epäonnistuttuaan saamaan lisätukea paikalliselta kunnalta Ängevi Ishallin ylläpitoon.

Seura eteni puolivälieriin viimeisimmällä kaudella, mutta on kamppaillut taloutensa kanssa useita vuosia. Ongelmiin lukeutuivat areenan ylläpitokustannusten kattaminen sekä raportit pelaajien palkkojen myöhästymisestä viime kauden aikana. Keskustelut Forshagan kunnan kanssa lisärahoituksesta tai tilojen täydellisestä haltuunotosta eivät johtaneet ratkaisuun, mikä johti vetäytymispäätökseen.
