Ruotsin hallitus esitteli keskiviikkona 17,5 miljardin kruunun kriisipaketin maailmanlaajuisen energiakriisin taltuttamiseksi. Ruotsidemokraattien tukemien toimien odotetaan saavan eduskunnan hyväksynnän ennen kesälomakautta.

Valtiovarainministeri Elisabeth Svantesson perusteli pakettia viittaamalla Iranin sotaan ja sen vaikutuksiin Ruotsin talouteen. Hän kuvaili tilannetta tähän asti nähdyistä pahimmaksi maailmanlaajuiseksi energiakriisiksi.

Paketti sisältää bensiinin ja dieselin veronalennusten jatkamista sekä korotettua sähkötukea kotitalouksille. Ruotsidemokraattien Martin Kinnunen lupasi merkittäviä vaikutuksia kotitalouksille, jotka tarvitsevat autoa työmatkoihin.

Vihreiden puheenjohtaja Daniel Helldén kutsui ehdotusta bensiinipopulismiksi ja ajoi sen sijaan joukkoliikenteen hintojen puolittamista. Hallitus ei ole vielä eritellyt kaikkia paketin osia.
