The government announced the suspension of classes for Tuesday, July 21, in communes across four regions of the country due to the effects of the frontal system affecting the central-north zone.
The measure was reported by the biminister of the Interior and SEGEGOB, Claudio Alvarado, after a new technical coordination meeting.
The suspension will apply to public and private preschool, basic, and secondary education establishments throughout the Coquimbo Region and in specific communes of Atacama, Valparaíso, and the Metropolitan Region.
In Atacama it affects Copiapó, Tierra Amarilla, Caldera, Vallenar, Huasco, Freirina, and Alto del Carmen. In Valparaíso it includes Petorca, La Ligua, Cabildo, Papudo, Zapallar, Quilpué, Villa Alemana, Olmué, and Limache. In the Metropolitan Region classes are suspended in San José de Maipo and Til Til.
