Indonesian swimming team wins silver at Islamic Solidarity Games 2025

The Indonesian swimming team secured a silver medal in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay at the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025 in Riyadh. Athletes Jason Donovan Yusuf, Nadia Aisha Nurzami, Joe Aditya Kurniawan, and Azzahra Permatahani finished second with a time of 3:39.96 in the final held at Olympic Pool Stadium.

On Sunday, the Indonesian swimming team competed in the final of the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay at the swimming event of the Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) Riyadh 2025, facing swimmers from eight countries at Olympic Pool Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Jason Donovan Yusuf started from lane four with a quick start, keeping Indonesia in the front pack. Nadia Aisha Nurzami followed as the second swimmer, performing steadily to maintain podium chances.

Joe Aditya Kurniawan, the third swimmer, surged forward in a tight race with the Turkish team. Azzahra Permatahani closed the relay with full determination, securing second place with a time of 3:39.96. Turkey claimed gold with 3:38.15, while Algeria took bronze with 3:41.49.

According to the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), Azzahra Permatahani expressed joy over the achievement. "I am glad because our team's hard work managed to deliver a silver medal for Indonesia," she said. She hopes this win boosts the team's spirit to add more medals and continue giving their best for the Indonesian contingent.

Joe Aditya Kurniawan also conveyed gratitude. "I am thankful for this medal. Thank you for the support and prayers from various parties to the team striving to honor Indonesia on the international stage," he stated.

This silver medal marks a positive start for Indonesian swimming at ISG 2025, where eight athletes are competing in seven events. Five of them were finals on the second day of the swimming competition.
