Belgian equestrian Lara de Liedekerke-Meier aims to compete at the upcoming World Championships despite a recent collarbone injury.
Lara de Liedekerke-Meier broke her left collarbone in a fall during a Nations Cup class at Marbach in May. She was riding the nine-year-old mare La La Land D’Arville at the time.
The rider has chosen not to undergo surgery immediately. She cited uncertainty about recovery and the need to prepare for the World Championships.
De Liedekerke-Meier is using a shoulder brace and working with a physiotherapist from the Belgian national rugby team. She finished third in a four-star short event at Kronenberg this month aboard the same mare.
She noted that missing the World Championships would increase pressure on Belgium’s efforts to qualify for the 2028 Olympics.
