A gun stolen from Judge Aggrey Muchelule in 2025 was used in a robbery at Chaii Wali Café in Westlands last week.
On Tuesday evening Judge Muchelule told police he discovered his Beretta 92 gun had been stolen after detectives informed him it was recovered in Joska Machakos County.
The firearm was found at the home of a suspect captured on CCTV during the Westlands robbery. The suspect was shot dead by police on Monday following an exchange of fire.
Joska Police Commander Peter Gichohi said the suspect had been hiding in the area since the Café incident. DCI officers recovered the gun along with four 9mm bullets and three mobile phones.
Investigations show the gun was also used in a February robbery in Mtwapa Kilifi County. The judge said he received 15 rounds when the weapon was issued to him in 2018.
