Junior Caminero continued his power surge with a 463-foot home run during the Tampa Bay Rays' 5-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday at Tropicana Field. The 22-year-old third baseman homered for the fourth straight game.
Caminero launched the solo shot off a cutter from starter Merrill Kelly in the fifth inning. The blast landed on the concourse beyond the center-field fence and ranked among the longest homers in the majors this season.
The Rays completed a sweep with the victory. Caminero finished 3-for-3 with a walk and an RBI single earlier in the game.
Manager Kevin Cash praised the young slugger's recent form. Teammates including Cedric Mullins and Drew Rasmussen highlighted the exceptional power on display.
Caminero now has 22 home runs this season and has hit seven in his last six games.
